This is the press programme for the Nobel Week in Stockholm. You need to apply for accreditation for some of the activities during the week. For the Nobel Prize award ceremony and the banquet the spaces are very limited.

Press conference – Artefacts from the laureates and meet the chef and the pastry chef

On 6 December the Nobel Prize laureates gathers at the Nobel Prize Museum. As a tradition they hand over an artefact to the museum. You will be able to see the artefacts at this press conference. You will also meet the chef and the pastry chef for the Nobel Prize banquet that will be presented for the first time during the press conference.
The artefact from Jon Fosse will be shown on 9 December.

Final for the project “Help a scientist” with medicine laureate Katalin Karikó
Location: Nobel Prize Museum
In the project “Help a scientist”, students are given the opportunity to try out real research in collaboration with top scientists in Sweden. This year the project has focused on collecting seaweed. One teacher and two students per school are invited to a closing conference at the Nobel Prize Museum, in which the scientists describe the results of the project, and poster prizes are awarded to the students.

Artefact from Jon Fosse on display
When the Nobel prize laureates visit the Nobel Prize Museum in Old Town in Stockholm during the Nobel Week, they are always asked to bring an object that meant something special to them. They also sign a chair for the museum’s bistro. On 9 December at 10.00, Jon Fosse’s artefact will be displayed at the Nobel Prize Museum by the museum’s staff.

Nobel Calling Space
Location: Nobel Prize Museum
Join us as we connect the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm with the International Space Station (ISS) for a unique live conversation between the 2023 Nobel Prize laureates Ferenc Krausz and Moungi Bawendi, and Danish ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen. Swedish ESA astronaut Marcus Wandt, who will take off on his space mission by the beginning of next year, will join us either at the museum in Stockholm or from the Houston Mission Control Center in the US.

Visit by representatives of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate
Location: The Nobel Prize Museum
This year’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi will be honoured in Oslo on the Nobel Day, 10 December. Because she is imprisoned in Iran, she will be represented at the award ceremony by her two children, 17-year-old Ali and Kiana Rahmani. On 13 December, they will visit the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm together with their father Taghi Rahmani, the husband of Narges Mohammadi. During their visit, a number of artefacts will be donated to the museum by Narges Mohammadi.

Nobel Week Lights is an artistic tribute to the Nobel Prize laureates and their achievements. The light installations will be shown outdoors in Stockholm during the Nobel Week.

Nobel Prizes and laureates
